In Affectionate Remembrance of Alfred Little who died on May 29th 1889, Aged 6 years & 11 months.

The card is mounted in frame with handpainted trees, flowers and pots on the inside of the glass. The Card was framed by A Turley, Carver,Gilder & Picture Framer- A speciality in Funeral Card frames.

More Scottish Passengers Lists have been added to Olive Tree Genealogy.

These are partial lists, gathered from the names of those admitted to the New York Almshouse before 1830. The New York Almshouse records give details of the ship name, port of departure and place of origin of each individual (as well as the standard date of admission, age and so on)

Burials in Milwaukee County Wisconsin Almshouse & Poor Farm Cemeteries

The Milwaukee County Farm Cemetery (a.k.a. Potter's Field) was used during the years 1872-1974. This cemetery was used for the poorhouse inmates and also for burial of other indigent people and transients for whom no funds were available for burial.

There are nearly 6,400 names in the burial register book. The names of the deceased are now online for 1872-1974 at Burials in Milwaukee County Wisconsin Almshouse & Poor Farm Cemeteries The years 1893-1913 are missing.

I have added some new sections to Ancestors At Rest in the last little while. Canadian Ships Passenger Lists being indexed

Library and Archives Canada (LAC) and Ancestry.ca will focus on indexing the Quebec City passenger lists from 1870 - 1900, totalling more than 750,000 names. The digital images of these and other Canadian ships passenger lists are already on the LAC website but can only be searched by ship name or date of arrival.

The index for Quebec City will be available free of charge on LAC as well as on Ancestry.ca. Eventually the entire Canadian passenger list collection from 1865 to 1935, which includes ports in Halifax, St. John, Vancouver, Victoria and North Sydney, is digitized and indexed.

In addition to the Canadian passenger list collection, later this year Ancestry.ca and LAC will make available border crossings records from the United States to Canada that took place between 1908 and 1935.

These additions add to Ancestry.ca's current online Canadian Border Crossing Collection, which include more than 4 million names of individuals who crossed the Canadian-U.S. border between 1895 and 1956.

Theft of 800 Gravestone Bronze Urns

Police suspect high price for bronze behind theft of 800 tombstone urns

John Willox and his girlfriend had hoped to place some flowers at her father's grave over the weekend. It was the second anniversary of his death and they wanted to mark it.

But when they arrived at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Toronto's west end they found the bronze flower vase mounted on the tombstone was gone. So were the vases on about a dozen other tombstones nearby, all part of an apparent theft of about 800 vases from the Albion Rd. cemetery.

Footnote.com Teams with FamilySearch to Release Revolutionary War Pension Files

Today, Footnote.com announced an agreement with FamilySearch, historically known as the Genealogical Society of Utah, a nonprofit organization sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. FamilySearch is the world’s largest repository of genealogical information.

This new partnership brings together two organizations that will utilize their combined resources to digitize and make available many large historical collections. The first project will be the three million U.S. Revolutionary War Pension files which will be published for the first time online in their entirety.

The Revolutionary War Pension Files feature original records that include muster rolls, payrolls, strength returns and other miscellaneous personnel pay and supply records of American Army Units from 1775-1783. They provide a wealth of new information for historians and genealogists which they can share with other colleagues and family members.

Part of Lot 17, Concession 2, Lots 75-82 in Registered
Plan #41A, Town of Lincoln, Regional Municipality of
Naigara, Province of Ontario.

Take notice that on June 19th, 2006, a burial site at the
above location was reported to the Registrar of the
Cemeteries Act (Revised).

An investigation conducted under the provisions of the
Cemeteries Act (Revised) indicates a burial of one adult
within lot 79 close to the lot 80 boundary.

The Registrar hereby gives notice of the intention to
declare the site to be an "Unapproval Cemetery", and
invites representatives of the person whose remains are
still interred to contact the Registrar in writing within
two weeks after May 18th, 2007.
