I dont really like this Igrave and natural burial stuff.

For those of you who read yesterdays post about Igrave I have to say that while I find it interesting, as a genealogist I don't really like this Igrave and natural burial stuff.

For genealogists like myself big old fashioned tombstones are one of the most important sources of genealogical information available to us. In many cases a tombstone is all that remains to tell us about the people who have gone before. Paper and electronic records are just too easy to lose.

All the folks who are being buried in natural unmarked graves risk being lost forever. I myself (like the Kings of old) want the biggest monument I can get.

Stone Age tomb unearthed in Scotland

Thousands of human bones have been found inside a Stone Age tomb on a northern Scottish island, archaeologists say.

The 5,000-year-old burial site in the Orkney Islands came to light when a homeowner dug away a small mound in his yard to improve his ocean view, National Geographic News reported.

Ancient graves threatened by climate change

Archaeological treasures that have been frozen for millennia are being destroyed because of climate change, according to Edinburgh researchers.

Remains in some of the coldest places on earth are being exposed as warmer temperatures cause ice and hardened ground to thaw.

Edinburgh University experts said the materials at risk included ancient tombs, artefacts and human remains.
