I went and had a look in the 1860 census and found a Mary Jane Hodson living in Somersworth, Strafford, New Hampshire but more research is needed to see if its the right Mary.

Her last name reads "Hodsdon". She died in Worcester, Mass. on the date indicated on the plate from "fever - disease of the brain." She was born in Tewksbury to John and Larina Hodsdon.
ReplyDeleteHodsdon/Hodson/Hodgson/Hodgeson etc. are all spellings for the same family in Maine/New Hampshire.
