OBIT: Frank Smith 1866-1919

FRANK SMITH

Frank SMITH departed this life Feb 6, 1919 after a brief illness of influenza and pneumonia. Frank lived all his life on the farm where he was born fifty-three years ago.

He leaves three sisters, Mrs Wm ROLLS, Mrs Milton CLEMENTS and Mrs Joe SPAINHOUR. His funeral was conducted at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, Feb 7th by Rev HARDY from the home. The burial occurred at Lone Jack. He will be missed by many friends.

OBIT: Blanche Clements died 1994

BLANCHE L CLEMENTS

Blanche L CLEMENTS, 86, died July 23, 1994 In the Liberty Terrace Care Center, where she lived. Services will be at 2pm Monday at the Langsford-Cox Chapel; burial in the Lone Jack Cemetery in Jackson County.

Friends may call from 1-2pm Monday at the chapel. Mrs CLEMENTS was a lifelong area resident. She attended Liberty Manor Baptist Church. Her husband, John W CLEMENTS Sr, died in 1945. Survivors include two sons, John W CLEMENTS Jr, Kansas City and Richard CLEMENTS, Hot Springs, Ark; three daughters, Joan TERRILL, Liberty, Jessie WILLIS, Lawson in Ray County, and Gwen MULLIN, Excelsior Springs; a sister, Myrtle PERRDUE, Kansas City, 27 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

OBIT: Jonathan Clements died 1896

JONATHAN CLEMENTS

Near Lone Jack, last Friday, an old gentleman names CLEMENTS and his wife were returning home from Lee’s Summit, when the horse became unmanageable and ran away, throwing Mr CLEMENTS and his wife from the buggy. Mrs. CLEMENTS escaped without great injury, but the latest report, Wednesday evening, says Mr CLEMENTS was still unconscious and it is thought that he cannot recover.

JOHN W CLEMENTS, SR.

John W CLEMENTS, 67, of 508 Thornton street, Liberty, died yesterday at the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia. He was born in Lone Jack, and lived 25 years in Liberty and Clay County. Mr CLEMENTS was a Baptist.

He leaves his wife, Mrs Blanche CLEMENTS of the home, four daughters, Mrs Joan TERRILL, Liberty, Mrs Mary Jane EIDSON, Mack’s Creek, Mo., Mrs Jessie WILLIS, Lawson, Mo., Mrs Gwen MULLIN, Liberty; two sons, Richard CLEMENYS, 3600 East Seventy-second street, North, and John W CLEMENTS jr, Lawson, Mo.; a brother, Homer CLEMENTS, representative from the Jackson County 12th district, 1234 South Main street, Independence; four sisters, Mrs Jessie MYERS, 5937 Charlotte, Mrs Fern HARTLEY, Sunrise Beach, Mo., Mrs Mamie MULLIGAN, Lee’s Summit and Mrs Margaret PIPER, 1814 South Vermont, Indpendance and 13 Grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 o’clock Thursday at the Langsford chapel, Lee’s Summit; burial in the Long Jack Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 o’clock Wednesday night at the Chapel.
