On last Thursday night at the last stroke of twelve, Mrs Frances SNOW SMITH passed away and her soul wended its flight to the “Beautiful City of God”. Mrs SMITH had been a sufferer for several years. For three years she has been confined almost constantly to her bed. She was born in North Carolina on Dec. 4, 1832, and came to Missouri at four years of age. She converted and united with the Christian Church when but a girl and at eighteen she was married to Thomas G SNOW.
She then united with the Baptist Church at Lone Jack, since which time she has continued as a loving and consistent. She was the mother of eight children – three sons and five daughters, four of which children are living and were present at the services at the home of her daughter, Mrs Joe SPAINHOUR,after which the interment occurred at the cemetery here Friday afternoon.
