Georgia R. Shore

Georgia R. Shore passed away Thursday, May 29, 2003, at the John Knox Care Center. She was born to William and Eliza (Lida) ROLLS in Lone Jack, MO on October 13, 1903. She graduated from Oak Grove High School and received her teacher certification from Central Missouri Teachers College at Warrensburg. She taught school prior to her marriage to Mark SHORE on August 11, 1925.

They lived and farmed in the Lone Jack and Pleasant Hill area during their 47 years of marriage. Mr. SHORE passed away on July 23, 1973. Georgia moved from the farm to Lee's Summit in 1980 and to John Knox Village where she lived for 19 years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lee's Summit. Services will be held Tuesday, June 3, at the First Baptist Church of Lee's Summit, 1st and Douglas Streets. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. with Service following at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Her survivors include her daughter, Pauline HINCK of Raytown, MO; two granddaughters, Cindy BOWMAN of Leawood, KS and Karen KUPERSMITH of Warrensburg, MO; two great-grandsons, Kyle and Tyler KUPERSMITH; and several nieces and nephews. (Arrangements: Wallace Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, MO)

Nellie N. ROLLS, 90, Portland, Ore. formerly of Lone Jack in Jackson County, died March 26, 1988, at a hospital in Portland. She was born in Lone Jack and lived in Thrall, Kan. for 40 years before moving to Portland in 1962. Mrs. ROLLS was a member of the Westside Church of Christ, Portland. Survivors include a son, Clarence R. ROLLS, Portland; a brother, Howard HUNT, Pagosa Springs, Colo.; and two sisters, Marie CHURCH, Oak Grove, and Lena SMITH, Bates City, Mo. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lone Jack Cemetery.

John Gerald Rolls

John Gerald ROLLS, 83, passed away on September 28, 2003, in Peoria, AZ. He was born June 18, 1920 in Kansas City, MO to Hubert and Alma HOLT ROLLS. He married June LEAVITT, who preceded him in death, on August 22, 1942, in Long Beach, CA. He is survived by two children, Jack (Cathy) ROLLS of CA and Judy (Alan) TURCO of NC; three grandchildren, Darrin (Carie) ROLLS of CA, David (Crystal) SAN JUAN of Egypt and Christine (Donald) SKYLES of NC; seven great grandchildren, Kory, Brett, Joshua, Tyler, Hope and Nickolas ROLLS of CA and Tristan SKYLES of NC.

He served in the Army during WWII and retired, with the rank of Master Sgt. from the Air Force. They moved to Sun City, AZ from HI 25 years ago.

Memorial service will take place at 2:00pm, Monday, October 6, 2003, at Sun City Christian Church, 9745 W. Palmeras, at 98th Ave, Sun City, AZ. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local Hospice.
